Lisa Too – ocean rowing boat

Where possible Ian will bring his ocean rowing boat Lisa Too along to events.

Full details on the boat are available on a pdf which you can download with the button below.

Please note the boat is transported on a 10 metre trailer so logistics/access play a part in where she can be brought along to, as does the additional cost of towing mileage. Please get in touch for more details: ian@atlantic-experience.co.uk or call 01234 345534

Introduction Card

This is a guide prompt card for introducing Ian at your event to make it easier for you to decide what to say.

Download the Intro card here

It is often best, and preferable, for the person introducing Ian to keep it short and simple and this card is there to help you.

Please feel free to use any part of it, all of it or none of it – Ian is not precious about how he is introduced, ultimately it is down to you and the card is not compulsory!

Then fold the sheet into your own ocean rowing boat once you have done and keep it as a reminder of the challenges you have faced and dealt with.

…you could build a fleet of them – for more of your own challenges, or your team at work, your family or your kids…keep rowing your ocean!

The video below shows the idea in action…

Poster: Cross your oceans

Atlantic A4 Courage smallAs we all know, Chistopher Columbus sailed ‘the ocean blue’ to find the ‘New Continent’. He left from La Gomera, the traditional starting point for the Atlantic rowing and this is his famous quote.

Courage to cross the ocean

Poster: Small changes, big impacts

Atlantic A4 small changes smallThe idea of rowing an ocean often prompts comments of ‘I could never do that.’ However, the process of doing it is very simple, straightforward and easy. Anyone can do it. All you have to do is take one single rowing stroke at a time. Once you have done that one, forget it as it is now in the past, do the one you are on and don’t worry about the next one until it is here – simple.

Once you have done this one small simple thing a million times you should be getting close to the far side of the ocean. Each stroke is a small change, keep making those small changes again and again and you will accumulate a big impact.

Poster: Recalibrate normal

Atlantic A4 Recalibrate2 smallHow we see the world is built on experiences, beliefs, acquired experience and what our brains tell us. But what if our brain is not telling us the truth, what if it tells us that ordinary people can’t row oceans, win medals, perform at a higher level – do extra-ordinary things? If it does tell us that then why would we change?

If we see everyone as ‘ordinary’ and it is the things that people do that are extra-ordinary, not the people them selves then what are we capable of too?

If we learn to look for ways to recalibrate what is or has become ‘normal’ just what could we achieve?

Poster: Where the magic happens

Atlantic A4 magic2 smallAnything outside our comfort zone is going to lead to a change in how we feel – our emotions will almost certainly prompt a variation of the flight or fight response and then it is our human ability to take charge and take over from that instinct that defines what we do.

Getting out of our comfort zone is going to a place where we can grow, where we can do extra-ordinary things, where we find the courage to leave site of the shore and row our oceans. Recognising our comfort zone and what keeps us in it is crucial. Getting out of our comfort zone will let us experience the magic of growth and doing more.
